WHAT

Garden Style Apartments

Odd Byrd Creative brought its signature eclectic style and storytelling approach to Parkway Grande Apartments in San Marcos, Texas. Tasked with the full spectrum of design and staging responsibilities—including exterior selections, unit interiors, and all common spaces—our team infused the property with a bold vintage-industrial narrative.

The clubhouse’s great room stands as the visual centerpiece of the project, where history and artistry collide. A vintage wooden boxcar is dramatically suspended from the ceiling, angled as if caught mid-descent. Below, industrial French bistro tables with iron crank bases and cognac leather chairs with riveted aluminum backs set the tone for the space’s industrial revolution-inspired atmosphere.

The main seating area continues the theme with a rich cognac leather sofa, matching chairs, and a rustic stone coffee table—all arranged to face an iron and wood media console flanked by tall etageres filled with vintage toys and curiosities. A framed painting of the Queen Mary at sea anchors the media wall, flanked by weathered flags from around the globe, reinforcing the space’s campaign-style influence.

A striking Roland Renaud painting, Man Painting Race Car, adds a pop of electric blue and nostalgic energy to the business nook tucked beside the kitchen. The kitchen itself features clean white cabinetry with granite counters, while the front of the island is clad in bold red mosaic tile. Above the cabinets, crossed vintage tennis rackets lend an unexpected and charming detail.

From custom-curated art and vintage finds to unique architectural focal points, Parkway Grande’s design tells a layered story of travel, history, and timeless style—crafted intentionally to evoke conversation and connection.
