Mixing vibrant colors, patterns, textures, and shapes is what the "go to hell" style is all about. That's exactly what he did when designing his Northwest Indiana hideaway.

Upon stepping into the foyer, guests are greeted by the warm glow of commercial windows, which flood the space with natural light even on the darkest winter days to illuminate the artwork adorning the vibrant blue walls.

A quick head turn to the left and your eyes are immediately drawn to the captivating half bathroom that greets you with its bold and vibrant presence. The walls, painted in a striking Chinese red hue, command attention and set the stage for a sensory journey unlike any other.

Adorning these walls is an eclectic display of art, ranging from antique pieces steeped in history to vibrant street art some of which feature the Chicago Interior Designer himself.

In Dick Clarke's living room, the vibrant blue walls, create a striking backdrop that immediately captivates the eye. Positioned along one side of the room are expansive 18" tall commercial windows, offering breathtaking views of the Sand Creek Country Club golf course, inviting the beauty of the outdoors to meld seamlessly with the interior space.

At the heart of the room, a large multicolor Indian shag rug sprawls across the floor, adding a playful and dynamic element to the decor. Upon this eye-catching rug rests a burlwood coffee table, serving as a focal point for gatherings and conversation. Nearby, a sumptuous green velvet sofa from Anthropologie beckons guests to sink in and relax, flanked by two mid-century modern chairs by Rowe Furniture adorned in a light grey geometric pattern, offering both comfort and style.

Against the eastern most wall, a majestic marble fireplace takes center stage, its columns adorned with iconic ionic capitals. The mantle serves as a showcase for an eclectic array of treasures, including decorative books, an Egyptian head dating back to 900 A.D., a small piece of art acquired by Dick during his travels in Paris as a kid, and a selection of antique vases, each adding depth and character to the space.

Above the mantle hangs a captivating Keith Haring inspired painting, injecting a burst of color and energy into the room, while serving as a nod to Clarke's appreciation for bold and expressive artistry. Together, these elements come together to create a living room that is both inviting and visually stunning, reflecting Clarke's impeccable taste and passion for design.

Adjacent to the vibrant living room lies Dick Clarke's formal dining room, a space exuding charm and sophistication at every turn. The walls of the dining room are adorned with the enchanting "Lingering Gardens" wallpaper, a stunning creation by York Wallcoverings featuring a kaleidoscope of kelly green avian and floral motifs, evoking a sense of timeless beauty and natural wonder.

Contrasting elegantly against the verdant backdrop, the trim and ceiling are painted a rich and inviting dark coral, adding depth and warmth to the space while accentuating its architectural features.

At the heart of the room sits a magnificent Federal-style antique table, a cherished find from a local Catholic charity shop, imbuing the space with a sense of history and character. Surrounding this centerpiece are George III style mahogany chairs by Maitland Smith, their graceful lines and intricate detailing complementing the table's classic design with a touch of refinement and sophistication.

In Clarke's home, every element tells a story, from the meticulously curated art collection to the innovative use of space and light. It is a sanctuary of creativity and inspiration, where design transcends mere aesthetics and becomes a reflection of the soul.
